Imagine, if you will, that you (an average American male) are driving down a rather typical and somewhat isolated country road; when suddenly, in broad daylight, you are flagged down by a female in obvious distress, as indicated by the raised hood of her car.
After stopping, and listening to her tearful plea, would you be inclined to help her? Of course you would. (I think)
With your helpful head under the hood, another female approaches you from behind. At gunpoint, you are forced into their vehicle and driven to an even more isolated location where you are forced to perform certain sexual acts. Will they now shoot you? Perhaps; but we will not presume to know all of your imaginings.
However, we will share this fact with you: A few years ago, a St. Joseph, Missouri Police Officer was found shot on an isolated country road. Fortunately, he survived to file a report very similar to the story above.
Have you heard horror stories of being in prison with rape a common thing. Think again about breaking the law. Don’t do it! Those stories are true! A friend (retired) held the position of Prison Nurse. Numerous times, male rape victims had to be treated due to rape. For some, it was necessary to be transported to the Emergency Room.

There are many news reports about Senior Citizens being victims and many of them are like the average person…changing looks and figures, as they get older. EVERYONE THAT IS TARGETED OR BECOMES A VICTIM IS NOT A RAVING BEAUTY! Believe me, AGE, AND LOOKS DOES NOT MATTER TO CRIMINALS!
During the early years while living in Lubbock, Texas, there were a couple of instances where rapists targeted women ages 60 into 90 years of age in the area.
Here are two report summaries.
Upstairs Victim No Problem for Rapist
One of the rapists went so far as to put a ladder up to a 2nd story window to rape his victim, a retired nurse age 62. She had left her bedroom window open.
Rapist Sees an Opportunity
Another guy raped his 82 year old victim in a neighboring town park across from the sheriff’s office and laughed about it when finally caught! NOBODY COULD HER SCREAMS over the sound of the air conditioner.

She shared with her family
While I was presenting the Prevention of Rape, Robbery, Assault, and Workplace Violence Safety Program in the Midland/Odessa, Texas area; one of the attendees shared this experience with those present at my program. She said that after previously seeing the Safety Seminar presented by Gary Politte, owner and National speaker with Protection Against Crime, she shared the information and the self-defense demonstrations with her sister. Her sister’s two girls at the time were 4 and 5 years old. Because some of the demonstrations are humorous (to help you remember them better and longer), the aunt and mother were laughing…You can just see both little girls begging, “Me too, me too!” The aunt showed the girls some of the self-defense techniques.

It wasn’t long after, the mother sent her daughters out with the trash to put in the dumpster (which was in the alley). After the girls put the trash in the dumpster, they turned around and started back to the house with the 4 year old daughter in front of the 5 year old. The 5 year old was grabbed by a guy who was in hiding by the dumpster. The 5 year old GOT AWAY! BECAUSE HER AUNT SHOWED HER THE SELF-DEFENSE TECHNIQUES LEARNED AT THE PROGRAM!!!
